PTA, taking advantage from the automation technology Russia is one of the most interesting and fast growing markets for the manufacturers of automation components, systems, machinery and plants, including the Italian ones. The number of industrial opportunities taking now place in its fast growing economy environment, are the most valuable impact factors having boosted the industrial automation technology in Russia during these years. Russia is one of the leading worldwide country in the Oil and Gas sector, is the fourth country in the world for the packaging industry, the automotive market is expected to grow at high rate in the next coming years. Also the food and beverage industry is now increasing, as well as the pharmaceutical and cosmetics sector. Moreover, a recent study of IMS Research forecasts a double digit grow-up of the machine tool market… and the list could be longer (aerospace, railroad, agricultural and earthmoving machines, power generation etc.). That’s the reason why in Russia the industrial automation technology is on the spotlight. In this positive moment, the advantage the manufacturing and process industry can take from this technology can be dramatic in terms of costs, production efficiency and –naturally- competition. And that’s the reason why PTA is the “must-have” event that all the people of the industrial automation community (companies, professionals, managers, technicians, consultants, engineers etc.) need to include in their agenda. PTA is the showcase where supply and demand can find their natural meeting point. And there is no other place like a specialized exhibition as PTA where better update our own knowledge about trends, technologies, products and opportunities. As President of BIAS, the Biennial International Exhibition of Automation, Instrumentation, Microelectronics and ICT for Industry, I want to underline the importance to attend to PTA both for exhibitors and visitors, wishing to the organizers a full success for the next edition of the most valuable industrial exhibition taking place in Russia.

Alberto Taddei
