Population - 1,101 million people
Pulp and paper industry is highly developed.
The fully stocked forest area is 1.7 million hectares.
Tyumen region
Area - 1435000 sq. m.
Population - 3,228 million people.
The region is rich in platinum, gold, nickel, chrome, cuprum, zinc, vanadium, tantalum, columbium. 65% of All-Russian oil is being mined here.
Khanty-Mansi Autonomus District
Area – 534800 sq. m.
Population- 1,331 million people.
The principal enterprises of oil and gas industry like Lukoil, TNK (Tyumen Oil Co.), Surgutneftegas, Yukos are located here.
Yamalo-Nenets Autonomus District
Area – 750 000 sq. m.
Population – 4,972 million people
There are 76 natural gas fields. 90% of All-Russian gas is being mined in this district.
Chelyabinsk region
Area – 87900 sq.m.
Population – 3,689 million people.
Such large Russian enterprises as Mechel, Magnitogorsk Iron&Steel Works, Ural Automobile Plant, Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant, Ufaleynickel are located in Chelyabinsk region.
Perm region
Area - 160200 sq.m.
Population – 2,820 million people.
It is a donor region. It takes the 10th place in Russian fiscal revenue.
